The latest Amrita Life Settlement Index results, based on June 2010 data, were released at 10:00 AM EST on July 6th. The results showed a moderate, 14.3% decline from May’s index level of 536.6 points. The 76.7 point decline to 460 was based on mixed activity and sentiment among survey respondents.

The Amrita Life Settlement Index posted a strong gain based on robust life settlement provider activity in May. The index jumped 28.6% from 418 points to 537 points. The 119 point rise marked the first time the index posted two consecutive months of gains.

The April 2010 Amrita Life Settlement Index results were released at 10:00 AM EST on May 4th. In a surprising turnaround from the previous month’s steep decline, the index climbed 92.8 points, from 324.6 to 417.4. The 28.6% rise was due to a sharp increase in market activity and renewed bullish expectations.

The Amrita Life Settlement Index posted its March 2010 data pointing to a continued slide in demand for life insurance policies on the secondary insurance market. The index showed a steep drop of 28.6%, from 455 points to 325 points. The results showed the index dropped 130 points from last month on increasingly conservative buying activities and sentiments from life settlement providers.

The Amrita Life Settlement Index declined from 528 points in January to 455 points in February demonstrating weakening demand for policies on the secondary life insurance market. The 73 point decline from last month equaled a 14% month over month decline in the life settlement index.

Amrita Financial developed the Amrita Life Settlement Index to track life settlement demand and industry buying activity. On Feb. 2nd, 2010 at 10:00 AM PST, Amrita Financial released the inaugural results of the Amrita Life Settlement Index revealing data collected in January 2010. The Amrita Life Settlement Index improved from its benchmarked 500 points to 528.
